Industry Focused Project

Third year university work. This was my final line up for my industry focused project. My chosen brand was Celine and I designed an AW14/15 sportswear inspired collection. I named my collection 'The Celine Woman 2.0" because with the new head of design, Phoebe Philo, for Celine, they have been attempting to change the muse of the Celine woman to become relatable to more clients.

Spec sheet Red or Dead

For my 'Red Or Dead' project I designed several garments. If I was a working designer I would create one of these spec sheets to be sent off to the factories to be made for me.

Red or Dead project final line up. The original theme was inspired from Space suits. This line up was AW14/15 ready-to-wear, so the outfits have been made very wearable unlike some of the other line ups I have previously designed. The running details throughout the collection is padded ribbing, big zips and bold colours.

Beauty in unexpected places

Yes this is the inside of a melon. I have been locked away in my room with the temptation of a new camera on my desk. So this was the most interesting thing I could find to photograph within these four walls.

Yayoi Kusama

By far one of my favourite exhibitions I have seen. Tate Modern, Yayoi Kusama, 9th February-5th June:

“Yayoi Kusama is renowned for her repeating polka dot patterns, whether in paintings, on walls or over naked bodies. The highlight of the exhibition is the two rooms designed by Kusama – it’s only when you are surrounded by her repeating patterns that you realise what it’s like to be immersed in her hallucinatory and fantastical world, where there is a constant struggle between light and dark. You will leave these rooms hoping that Kusama will design a house one day, and believing that if she did it would be a cross between Gaudi’s Casa Batllo and a haunted house.”
